As a Flight Test Engineer you will be an essential part of the Flight Team at Jedsy; part engineer, part pilot, and part problem-solver. You will work in close cooperation with the CTO and the software team in Switzerland to plan, execute, and analyze flight tests to ensure our drone technology works safely and reliably in the real world. This position bridges the gap between engineering and actual flight behavior — a crucial role as we continuously test and refine our system.

Flight Test Engineers are curious, patient, and have a hands-on mindset. You need to be calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and ready to solve problems on the fly. Engineering or mechanical knowledge helps, but passion and persistence matter more.

 

YOUR MISSION:

Take designs into the field and test them. Like our delivery pilots, our Flight Test Engineers fly drones — but with experimental setups to push limits and gather data to improve performance. It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and an integral part of the development cycle.

• Planning and flying test flights as operator from the Ground Station based in our Headquarter in Switzerland
• Analyze flight data and provide recommendations for performance improvements;
• Collaborate with the software and hardware teams to integrate and optimize flight control systems to allow better performances in operations
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during flight operation, if needed connect with appropriate stakeholders to fix issues
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure the airworthiness of the drones
• Document flight results and provide detailed reports to the Head of Operations via our company channel

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Your professional skills:

• Proven experience in flight testing/operating, preferably with unmanned aerial systems
• Strong knowledge of flight dynamics, control systems, and aviation regulations;
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong leadership skills and experience in managing flight operations
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Nice to Have but not necessary:

• Bachelor's Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related on the field experience
